We are able to showcase our dances in our Variety Shows and at Gipton Gala, plus many other showcase events around Leeds.
Since its launch in January 2003 Gipton Together has worked with children/young people aged 5yrs -18 yrs. from the communities of Gipton/Harehills and surrounding areas, areas scant of opportunities for young people.
Through arts and sports activities for young people our sessions act as a crime prevention and crime diversionary alternative.
Gipton Together addresses social exclusion providing community based activities, and a safe place for children/young people to go in the evenings - and alternative to 'hanging out' on the streets.
We encourage young people to participate, to acquire and develop their ‘transferable’ skills, to raise their aspirations, to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, self-esteem and confidence; and with the support of the wider community, to challenge the barriers between generations.
Commercial Street (Seniors) classes are offered by The Dance Depo Dance School All our teachers are experienced professionals qualified at associate or degree level in their chosen genre. All staff are CRB checked.
These classes are full of energy and positivity. Drawing on Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, House and Breaking, this class gets your child grooving while teaching the foundations of street dance styles and vocabulary.
Push your boundaries and learn more technique and choreography, and most importantly work on musicality. This class will develop your individual style and your moves.
We would suggest a physical session incorporating street dance, break dance and physical theatre.
Adult Street Dance classes are offered by Dance Fusion Limited. We provide professional training in groups for children and adults. Whether you would like classes for Fun and fitness or are aiming for a professional career in dance or performing arts, Dance Fusion is the Place for you.
