Our Hip-hop class will introduce students to hip hop as a culturally significant form of dance. Students will learn history, social aspects, and fundamental techniques from house, popping and locking to name a few.

Training will address flexibility, sequencing and coordination. Students will be encouraged to bring their own individual style and personality to the movement.
Danielle’s dream began at the tender age of four, when she started dancing with June Neal Key in Kansas City, Kansas, then furthered her training at age nine with Lisa Stickelman Dillinger and Flo Klenklen at the State Ballet of Missouri (now the Kansas City Ballet School).
Danielle continued her dance education at the Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts in Natick, Massachusetts with Michael Owen, Sydelle Gomberg, the late Samuel Kirkjian, and Tamara King, and was a member of their National Youth Ballet for two seasons.
During that time she also attended several summer programs including the Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education.
A fun, energetic class starting with a warm up consisting of hip hop dance grooves and stretching. Then learn a dance combination to a range of hip hop music from classics to the hits. A new dance is taught every class.
Hip Hop Crew Team Only - Experienced hip hop dancers that want to progress to a competition team (Ages 12 - 18). *Upon teacher approval. Designed for dancers 12 and up and have had at least two years of dance training.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to join our fun, high-energy Hip-Hop class. Â Age appropriate movement and music are used in this fast-paced class. Â With its roots in street jazz, pop and lock, commercial, and pedestrian styles, Hip Hop is a constantly evolving form of dance.

Civic Dance Arts Beginner Hip Hop 1A is a fun and engaging class designed to introduce your child to the basics of hip hop dance. Students will learn how to warm up, stretch and do strengthening exercises to music and learn basic hip hop steps and combinations to music.
