Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970’s.

Studi-O Dance School first began in 2008 in Valentine, NSW with a small group of students who were looking to dance and have fun. It was started by Olivia Williams – qualified teacher and choreographer, with international accomplishments. The school soon flourished and our fun and energetic jazz/funk classes soon turned into popular classes of jazz, tap, contemporary, hip-hop, ballet technique and acrobatics.
Many students wishing to turn their passion into something more challenging receive private lessons and join our competition troupes. These troupes have been very successful at scoring places at many local eisteddfods.
Hip hop is found in movies & television shows including Step Up and America’s Best Dance Crew.
At JE Dancehouse we teach all different styles of Hip Hop dancing. We teach a clean style of Hip Hop with music that is appropriate for all ages. We like to teach all different styles to teach students the appreciation for the Hip Hop style.
Hip Hop covers a wide range of styles including break dance, pop and lock, and krumping. Students enjoy a high energy class to all the latest music.
A hard-hitting grounded dance style using body pumps and isolations, “New Style” Hip Hop is urban dance inspired with the kind of choreography you would find in Hip Hop/Pop music videos. Suitable for all skill levels, no experience necessary.
