Safety and Health Information Bureau (SHIB) was conceived as a resource facility offering an integrated professional service to various occupancies in dealing with the problems relating to safety, health, environment and fire safety.

SHIB was established in 1989, in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Though,SHIB was established in Navi Mumbai, recently its office has been relocated to its own building at Alleppey, Kerala, with a view to widen its activities.

SHIB helps the organisations to develop their vision for the future and determine strategies to achieve better working conditions and environment and thereby increase the overall production and quality of working life.

Ever since its establishment, SHIB provides comprehensive services such as: Safety Audits, Safety Studies, Evaluation of Infrastructure; Training Programmes; Information DVDs; Publications, etc. in various occupancies PAN India.

Safety Audits: General Safety Audits in Factories and Allied Occupancies; Fire Safety Audits in Factories, Commercial Establishments, Educational Institutions, Hospitals; Fire Safety Audits in Residential Buildings including High Rise Buildings, etc.

Safety Studies: Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments (HIRA), Hazard Operability Studies (HAZOP), Hazard Analysis (HAZAN), Hazardous Area Classifications, On-Site Emergency Plans, etc.

Evaluation of Infrastructure: Assessment of Fire Prevention and Fire Protection Requirements, Assessment of Physical Working Conditions and their Control Measures, Assessment of Workplace Noise and its Control Measures, Assessment of Personnel Protective Equipment Requirements, etc.

Mr. R.Rajasekharan Nair, is currently the Director of Safety and Health Information Bureau, who is a specialist in Occupational Safety, Health and Fire Protection, with more than 50 years’ experience in the field.
