The focus of the course is to produce a concept garment, while giving you an insight into the world of fashion and textiles.

This How to Develop Embroidery Skills for Fashion course is ideal for those with an interest in design and fabric manipulation. It will allow beginners with little or no experience to try out a variety of textile techniques for surface design and embellishment.

 

What will I learn?

This course will be taught by Rosie Gibson. Rosie has over a decade of experience in the industry working across fashion and textiles.

Her career highlights include collections for Jenny Packham, Jasper Conran and Asos, designing embroidery and embellishment for evening wear, bridal and home wear. Rosie currently teaches within the School of Fashion and Textiles.

The course will allow you to explore a wealth of embroidery techniques and experiment with fabric manipulation for both fashion and interiors.

You will produce fabric samples in both machine and hand-techniques alongside developing research and design development skills. You will follow a set theme and research contemporary embroidery within fashion and interiors.
