The HVAC CE Certificate consist of four (4) required course sections:
CNBT-1001 Introduction to the Construction Industry
HART-1001 Basic Electricity for HVAC
HART-1007 Refrigeration Principles (HART-1001 Prerequisite)
HART-1056 EPA Recovery Certification (HART-1007 Prerequisite)
In CNBT-1001, students will study topics including OSHA 10 training requirements, construction math, hand and power tools, materials handling and construction drawings. HART-1001 covers principles of electricity as required by HVAC: testing equipment, electrical circuits, and component theory and operation.
HART-1007 covers refrigeration cycle, heat transfer theory, temperature/pressure relationship, refrigerant handling, refrigeration components, and safety. HART-1056 is a certification training class focusing on recovery, recycle, and reclaim of HVAC refrigerant. During the last day of this class, students will take the EPA Universal Examination.
We develop and deliver innovative and accessible programs to meet the needs of both individual Austinites and the organizations that employ them.
