In part one of the HVAC/R evening program, students will study the fundamental principles of electricity. This will include: the magic of transformers, electric motors, gas and electric heat, and how to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
In part one of the HVAC/R evening program, students will study the fundamental principles of electricity. This will include: the magic of transformers, electric motors, gas and electric heat, and how to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
Students will obtain valuable hands-on experience in troubleshooting and servicing motors, compressors, controls, and the equipment they will encounter on a daily basis. A thorough familiarity with the tools and diagnostic instruments specific to the trade, as well as practice in the art of brazing and soldering, is integral to this program.
Additionally, students have the opportunity to test for and earn their OSHA 10 Certification. Testing fee is included in tuition. The State of Oklahoma requires a three (3) year apprenticeship to obtain a Journeyman’s License. Successful completion of Part 1 and Part 2 of this program counts as one (1) year toward that apprenticeship.
