Join us to explore how you can begin to make the move away from traditional assessments, and design authentic assessments
Looking for ways to change up your assessments? Struggling to get your students to work to their greatest potential? Striving to have your students make connections between learning and application?
Authentic assessments require students to demonstrate their learning in active, engaging and meaningful ways, often mimicking tasks they may encounter in their everyday lives or future careers.
Join us to explore how you can begin to make the move away from traditional assessments, and design authentic assessments that challenge your students to “show what they know” in ways that are relevant to them (and perhaps even a bit of fun for you).
Durham College’s Professional and Part-time Learning is a provincial leader in the development and delivery of online programs and courses. Our virtual classrooms are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Online learning has been providing students with a flexibility to update their skills, discover a new talent or chart a career path at their convenience.
However, this flexibility also brings its own set of challenges, such as maintaining motivation and focus. To overcome these challenges, successful online learners adopt certain habits and strategies.
In this course, you will explore the concept of emotional intelligence.
We offer leadership assessments, individual coaching, and public workshops so you can feel comfortable learning at your own pace, no matter your preferred learning style.
Emotional Intelligence Workshops provide the tools to understand the importance of Self-Awareness and Self-Management.
Workshops utilize the True Colours International Personal Awareness assessment
The workshop will review, assess and develop participant competencies in the five areas of Emotional Intelligence: Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social Skills.
