Interior design is defined as the professional and comprehensive practice of creating an interior environment that addresses, protects, and responds to human need(s).
It is the art, science, and business planning of a creative, technical, sustainable, and functional interior solution that corresponds to the architecture of a space, while incorporating process and strategy, a mandate for well-being, safety, and health, with informed decisions about style and aesthetics.
At Wade College, students learn how to problem solve using the design process to apply interior design fundamentals, principles, elements, theories, history, and methodology.
Our program provides students with hands-on experience in space planning, design, essential industry software, codes, environmental issues, lighting, professional practices, internships, and the basics of architecture, among other subjects.
Our Interior design professors work in the industry, have field experience in the respective courses, and bring phenomenal expertise to the classroom setting.
Interior design students can start gaining valuable experience while studying by enrolling in field experience courses, taking advantage of internship opportunities and our proximity to the Dallas Design District, and participating in industry trade shows at the Dallas Market Center.
