This soul craft not only enables you to create treasured objects to fill your home with but is a relaxing, meditative past time and effective in reducing stress levels and anxiety.
In this workshop, you will learn to make pieces on the pottery wheel, and choose 3 items to be glazed and fired for you to collect 3 weeks later.
Once equipped with the basic skills of throwing, you will be able to join our studio in our Open Studio Sessions or weekend BYO Throwing Classes. Alternatively you could continue in a 6 Week Course.
Workshop runs from 9am - 2pm on either a Saturday or Sunday in Newstead and Sundays in Morningside.
The workshop price of $240 includes all materials and for our studio to fire and glaze your pieces in your choice of colour. (4 colours choices)
A morning tea of coffee, tea, biscuits and fruit is provided in the workshop, but if you would like to bring or buy a more substantial lunch you are welcome too.

The Ceramic House is an open ceramic studio conducting workshops, classes, masterclasses and guided studio sessions. Within the space is a small shopfront stocking Mas & Miek ceramics and a cafe open to all.
Discover the joys and mindful pleasure of throwing clay on a wheel. No experience needed - just patience. However, this short course is also perfectly suitable for intermediate potters who have done a wheel-throwing course or two and want to practise or refine their skills.
These are a one-off 2-2.5 hour class and consist of basic wheel throwing or Hand-building. You’ll have a brief studio tour and explanation of the ceramic process on arrival.
Colour My Pot offers a great experience to introduce you to the art of pottery.
The class will focus on developing the basic techniques of wheel throwing: centering clay, throwing tall cylinders, cups, bowls, turning and basic glazing.
In this two hour long class, we're going to explore the fantastic world of hand building with clay to create your very own ceramic masterpiece! Â We'll discover different techniques for mastering the art of hand building as we guide you through the steps to creating a mug, vase or mini planter.
