The first step in learning how to sew is learning how to use the sewing machine. We teach on any make and model of machine. Our goal is for our students to be comfortable on their sewing machine so they can sew better!  This class will be limited to one student.

If you wish to take the class with your child or would like a friend or sibling to join, simply click on "add a friend or family member" at the bottom of the page.

The student will bring their personal sewing machine.  If the student does not own a sewing machine yet, we have classroom machines for the student to learn on.

The students will learn how to do the following in this session:

  • How to thread the machine
  • How to wind a bobbin
  • What all the functions and parts are on the machine
  • What types of needles and thread to use and why
  • The tools necessary for sewing

The student creates stitch samples, and then to apply all that they’ve learned, a small drawstring bag is made.  All materials are included in the $75 class fee.
