Understand how to set up the weld sets for different material thicknesses
Understand how to work safely with the welding equipment
Carry out fillet, stitch, lap and butt welds
Prepare material for welding
Carry out a visual inspection of the welds
Understand the features that make a good or a bad weld

This introductory welding skills qualification gives you the opportunity to learn the basics of effectively carrying out welding operations in a range of joints and positions.
The Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Fabrication & Welding Technology is designed to contribute towards the knowledge and understanding of Engineering. It covers the principles of Engineering Technology including Fabrication and Welding Technology.
Qualifications at Level 1 are designed for those wishing to enter the industry and for those wanting to gain a welding, metal fabrication, thermal cutting or brazing and soldering qualification for their own personal skills development.
This is an introductory welding course that would suit those seeking to learn the basics of welding, it's aimed at those who are interested in learning to weld to pursue a hobby etc.
