We offer English classes at various levels as well as a wide range of other languages, typically including Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, Korean, Russian, Japanese and more on offer.
Our classes usually run for 10 weeks, taking place once a week on campus.

Our Story
The idea for the International Society arose back in 1966 when Eva Auerbach, a Chaplain at the University of Manchester, felt there was a need for an independent organisation to provide welfare and social support to international students.
Under the direction of Ms Anna Ford the Society was founded. From small beginnings of less than a hundred members we now have around 6,000 members from over 130 countries each year.

The International Society is a unique one of a kind, independent charity based in Manchester that has been celebrating cultural diversity and promoting global friendship for over 56 years.
We aim to provide international students with a warm and friendly welcome when they arrive in the city and to make their time in the UK a wonderful experience. Our activities including trips, classes, events, activities and volunteering opportunities are open to all.
While the majority of the Society’s members are international and British students studying at the universities and colleges in the city, many are people who have come to live and work in the UK, or members of the community interested in meeting people from all over the world. The Society is family-friendly and people of all ages get involved.
Japanese language training with our carefully curated teachers can be arranged for different levels, corporate skills, and durations to match you or your employees’ needs.We will have an initial conversation with you so that we can get an idea of exactly what you require.

In 12 hours, you can acquire the words and expressions necessary for daily situations such as greetings, asking ways, restaurant, shopping, etc. You’ll also be introduced to the characteristics of Japanese culture.
Our Japanese speakers, fully qualified to teach their native tongue, can train you and, if need be, the rest of your group at a time that is suitable to you, at your home or place of work.
We created a new kind of language school in London exclusively for adult learners like you. Your average language school prepares students for exams and certificates teaching a sterile language through irrelevant material and childish textbooks. That’s not what you get with us.
