St. Patrick, our mission is to personalize adult education as we believe education can be the pathway to a brighter future. We strive to meet the needs of adults in our community with high-quality and varied program options throughout our community.
In addition to adult education, St. Patrick offers some programs for elementary and secondary students. At a glance, we offer programs in:
Adult Credit: Courses designed for adult learners who want to complete their high school diploma
English as a Second Language (ESL): Classes for non-English speaking individuals, designed to provide life and work skills, prepare students for citizenship, assist work towards high school diploma, and prepare for college
Essential Skills Training: Non-credit program with courses for adults who wish to update their skills for employment, education and training with a focus on completing your high school diploma
Literacy & Numeracy for Youth: Programs designed to assist students in grades 7-10 who struggle in the various math strands as well as reading, writing and discussion skills
International Languages Programs: Non-credit language classes available to elementary students *credit classes in some languages for secondary students
St. Patrick recognizes that adult learners have a variety of goals: achieving a post-secondary pathway, earning high school credits, improving literacy and numeracy skills, academic upgrading, learning English as a Second Language and more. To get there, our guidance department is here to help.

The YMCA International Language School is known for its personal and dynamic approach. With approachable and attentive teachers and classes designed to meet the needs of our different clients, we are ready to help you achieve your goals.
An introduction to foundational Japanese. Emphasis is placed on grammar, syntax, and writing, as well as aural/oral practice. Initially students will learn to read and write the hiragana syllabary followed by the katakana syllabary.
If you have little or no previous knowledge of Japanese, this is the right level for you. Learn to share information about yourself and ask basic questions of those around you.
The target audiences for language coaching are the entrepreneur, the start-up, the business professional or anyone preparing for an important event requiring confidence and a polished presentation in a second language.
