At Star-Lite Dance Studio we teach a variety of popular and classical dances at both advanced and beginner levels. Classes are held nightly throughout the week on Mondays through Fridays while on Saturday and Sundays we hold morning and afternoon classes.All classes start up in September of each year and wrap up at the end of the following June with a studio dance recital finale.
Our well trained teachers , each highly skilled dancers in their respective speacialty, lead the instruction of all classes. Depending on the type of dance being taught (ie: a tap duet or a large production number) classes can range from having 2 students to containing over 30 students. All being taught in a friendly atmosphere that focuses on helping each student reach their goals.
The latest dance styles are expressed in jazz dancing. This fast paced, high energy class uses popular music to express dance techniques.
Jazz…a forever-changing dance style since the 1920s. Dances like the Charleston are known as Jazz, but so are the styles of Bob Fosse & Alvin Ailey. Jazz is energetic & fun, consisting of moves, footwork, leaps & turns.
From beginner to advanced, young to old, the Shelley Shearer School of Dance offers a wide variety of classes and class times to suit all needs. Through our own Jazz dance syllabus, students are exposed to a wide variety of Jazz dance styles and music.
This program is developed for students 6-7 yrs old. Dancers have the option of ballet, tap or jazz/hip hop or any combination of these styles. Each class is 30 minutes. It is great way to introduce young dancers to different styles of dance while building a strong foundation!
The class will begin with a global warming of the body to connect to physical sensations and free the mind.Â
