Flexibility, co-ordination and strength are an integral part of the techniques and are displayed through spectacular turns and jumps at the advanced level. Young dancers are trained to become disciplined and versatile dancers who have a professional attitude towards dance.
The children’s jazz work is on age-appropriate material based on natural movements: walking, running, jumping and skipping, as well as isolations and rhythm. It is designed to encourage an imaginative and rapid response to music and to promote an appreciation and enjoyment of jazz. At the Intermediate level dancers must attend 2 classes per week.

Ages 7 to 10 years. Students are exposed to a diverse range of styles with an emphasis on proper warm up, alignment and conditioning. Students learn basic jazz dance steps and combinations.

Jazz classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. An exploration of the various styles of jazz dancing from lyrical to hip-hop, funk and the blues.
A class designed for students with limited motor skill development, high functioning autism, down syndrome, Aspergers, coordination difficulties, or limited range of motion. Dancers will learn patterning, rhythm exercises and coordination, while working at their own pace
