To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance. Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television, movies and Broadway.
Please note: All intermediate and advanced level jazz students must be enrolled in a ballet class in order to participate in the intermediate and advanced level jazz classes. These classes do perform in our end of year Spring Show
Academy of Dance has been open under the direction and ownership of Jacquie Franz since 2001. In the spring of 2009, Academy of Dance moved to its current location, offering classes for two year old's and up.

1 hour 15min of Advanced Jazz technique across the floor and in centre including all styles of jazz technique and infused jazz technique with lyrical, modern/contemporary and hip hop styles. Emphasis on rhythm, accent, flexibility, choreography, artistry and integration.

This is an intermediate level class recommended for students 8-11 years of age. At least 1 year of prior jazz training is required for this class.
