With a combination of stretches, barre work, floor exercises and cross-floor combinations, Boogaloo Academy’s jazz course will develop and refine the technical skills of each participating student.

Drawing from diverse styles such as lyrical, contemporary, and street jazz, this course brings a unique emphasis to the student’s energy, personality, attitude and performance quality. As students learn to fully engage their bodies, they will develop the ability to engage their own emotions, and to connect to their audience.
Boogaloo Academy’s students are taught in an atmosphere of caring and trust, and receive the finest education in both classical and street styles of dance.
Students of all ages and levels, from infants to adults, recreation to award-winning competitive, can choose from the many Dance, Drama, Music and Street Art classes offered at Boogaloo.
Jaznastics is our very own creation! It involves both moves from jazz and gymnastics. Students will spend an equal amount of time learning both jazz steps and taking turns learning gymnastics.
Jazz dance classes are offered by Xklusive Dance Productions. We offer regularly scheduled classes to students aged 2-102 from Monday-Sunday.
Students are not required to take ballet (Elementary 1/2 or Pre-Teen) but is highly recommended
Think Chicago, All That Jazz and Sweet Charity! Built on the foundations of jazz and swing music, jazz dance is a high energy form using movements from a variety of techniques drawn from ballet, swing, vaudeville and African dance traditions combined with stylized choreography.
Typical class structure continues starting with a warm-up and muscle stretch to develop and improve flexibility. Emphasis is placed on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style.
