There is an added emphasis on the execution of jumps and turns. We follow the ADAPT Jazz Syllabus. Students may be eligible for Jazz exams at the discretion of the teacher.
Calgary West Dance Academy is committed to providing professional and safe dance training to children and youth of all ages. With a focus on the development of strong technique, creativity and stage presence young dancers will be given the opportunity to thrive in an atmosphere of discipline, support and inclusion.
We focus on providing an age-appropriate dance experience that allows children to be kids while still providing exceptional technical training. Our choreography, costume and music choices will always reflect age-appropriate themes and content.

Dance is at the foundation of what we teach but the lessons taught involve much more. We train dancers who are both technically strong performers as well as creative artists, compassionate peers and confident leaders.
A high energy class featuring a variety of movement and styles. Classes consist of warm-up and barre exercises, as well as progressions, improvisation, combinations and routines.
Jazz classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. An exploration of the various styles of jazz dancing from lyrical to hip-hop, funk and the blues.
Students will focus on movements such as leaps, jumps and flexibility. Students are required to wear a body suit or fitted top with spandex shorts, leggings or tights.
Jazz Dance course is offered by Dance Studio East. It is our mission to provide our students with quality instruction so they can attain a level of professionalism without leaving the province.
Dancers will increase their flexibility, strength, coordination and focus, while tapping into an electrifying performance style that is unique to jazz dance.
