At DanceHouse Miami, jazz classes are offered for all ages of dancers so that everyone can enjoy this unique art form. Jazz has its roots in African dance as well as the jazz music of the early decades of the 20th century. Accordingly, jazz touches on many other dance disciplines, including ballet and contemporary. Other influences include Latin and Caribbean rhythms, making jazz a singularly diverse style that appeals to everyone.
Jazz is infused with syncopated rhythms and encourages improvisation. Classes begin with a warm-up in the center before moving to exercises designed to build technique. Dancers also work in diagonals across the floor as increasingly complex combinations are introduced.
If you’re ready to move to the beat and explore new rhythms, then jazz dance is the right choice for you. Many of our students choose to perform in our recitals, giving them a chance to demonstrate the progress they’ve made for family and friends.
Dancehouse is dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and competition level. We provide a solid foundation for dance and help every student to discover their strengths and to reach their own personal potential.
Dancehouse uses state of the art floating floors with Marley sheet overlays to prevent students from injury while providing the ultimate in dance comfort. Dancehouse offers Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballroom and Acrobatics. We accept students ages 3-18.
Jazz relies on the dancers classical ballet training and dance technique. Jazz dance pushes the dancer to connect emotionally and physically to the music. Jazz dance has a huge range of styles: theater and Broadway jazz, classical, modern, lyrical, funk, African, contemporary and more
Jazz dance classes are offered by Dance Center of Florida for all ages and skill level. Dance Center of Florida’s mission is to bring a professional and supportive dance center to Miami offering diverse dance training for both children and adults.

This jazz class begins with an extended warm-up focusing on stretching, core strengthening, and upper body strength exercises. You'll go across the floor to fine tune your technique, and will break down the mechanical function of pirouettes, battements and other common dance moves
Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms.
