Kelly Hurlbutt created Excels Dance Academy back in 2006. The group originally met in a small church hall, but since the classes have proved more popular they now take place at Hollymoor Centre. Excels provides a range of different dance classes from ballet to street dancing.

Jazz is an energetic dance form focused on syncopated rhythm, isolations, and a low centre of gravity. Jazz style merges ballet technique with quick weight changes, pop music, and an emphasis on correct technique.
Jazz is one of our most popular classes and encompasses several different styles with its origins in Musical Theatre. In the class we concentrate on dynamics, strength and flexibility. Jazz and Ballet technique work hand in hand to create a strong and well rounded dancer.
