Jazz dance is a stylized movement form that has developed in parallel to American popular music – it promotes individuality and performance. Often seen on TV, advertising campaigns, on-stage and in musicals, jazz dance is the leader of the entertainment biz.
Students will improve their musicality, move with power, and learn to attack movement with a vigour that is all “jazz.” Students in Pre-Intermediate or higher levels will take 2 classes weekly.
Because of the demand at higher levels, Intermediate and Senior level students must also take ballet.
Free House Dance Plus was founded in 1988 by director Kathie Bernard in answer to a need for a quality, non-competitive dance studio with a personalized, inclusive, feel-good environment.
In 1991, serendipity brought the school to its current excellent, bright, convenient location in the quiet inner-city residential community of Briar Hill. FREE HOUSE Dance Plus operates in a single use, purpose-built facility with 4 bright & open classrooms.
Nearby, our students enjoy plentiful amenity space, adjacency to a family-friendly park and a short two block walk to the Lion’s Park LRT station.

Think Chicago, All That Jazz and Sweet Charity! Built on the foundations of jazz and swing music, jazz dance is a high energy form using movements from a variety of techniques drawn from ballet, swing, vaudeville and African dance traditions combined with stylized choreography.
Jazz classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. An exploration of the various styles of jazz dancing from lyrical to hip-hop, funk and the blues.
Dancers love our jazz classes! We combine formal technique with current dance moves. We use popular music and appropriate music for our classes. Students develop skills in the latest dance styles, jumps, and turns. They also develop self-expression and musicality.
Jazz dance classes are offered by Dancefit Canada . At Dancefit Canada, we offer all new dancers a free one week trial for any class on our schedule. We offer both recreational and competitive dance, cultivating creativity in all our dancers in a safe, healthy and positive environment.
Jazz technique is fast paced and dynamic. It is full of fun and high energy movement.
