Upbeat dance style using elements of ballet and modern influenced by rhythm & music. Lyrical and Contemporary is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern technique. These styles are incorporated into all Jazz classes.
This class is recommended for Int/Adv. dancers who have had prior experience. Class begins with a warm up to engage the joints and core muscles and increase flexibility.
For tweens and teens, our jazz dance classes offer the opportunity to learn more complicated choreography that includes line and phrasing. Students will also learn dance routines and performance skills.
Jazz as an art form has evolved over time. However, turns, leaps, and kicks will always remain the core of our work. With a solid warm up at the beginning of each class, our Jazz program strives to improve not only the dancers’ skills, but also the strength and flexibility behind the movements.
