Sunshine Coast Performing Arts College offers Jazz classes in the Commonwealth Society of Teaches of Dance syllabus.
DurationC.S.T.D is one of the great international Dance Societies proudly serving Dance for over 77 years, providing examinations in all major dance disciplines from Primary to Teacher qualifications. Jazz combines the technical aspects of Classical but is more dynamic in its movements and music.
SCPAC enjoys a 100 percent examination pass rate in Jazz, with the majority of students gaining top marks. SCPAC has had outstanding success with Jazz in Solo, Duo, Trio and group sections in eisteddfods throughout Queensland.
SCPAC offers capped classes for all styles of dance, to ensure each child gets the individual attention they require. Capped classes ensure for an optimal teaching environment. This guarantees the students’ needs are continuously being met to a high-quality standard.
Our studios are fully air-conditioned, equipped with wooden sprung flooring, professional barres, and full-length mirrors. For the comfort of our students, we have a student lounge, dining and study area, as well as change rooms and showers. For your convenience, we also have a dance and theatrical supplies store, and parent viewing areas.
You will then learn technique including turns and jumps, choreography, and finish off with a stretch to improve flexibility! Sneakers without too much grip or dance sneakers recommended
Jazz dance classes are offered by Backstage Dance Academy.
Jazz dance is a combination of a variety of styles including ballet, modern dance, social and street dance, folk dance, and acrobatics and uses dance forms of different nations, most influentially, Africa.
