DurationIn the Artz Collective Jazz Dance Badge Series absolutely any student can advance by following our specially designed step by step system, and practicing their exercises and dance at home.
As one of the few Performing Arts Schools currently teaching a level progression based program of Jazz Dance rather than holding Jazz classes with many age groups thrown in together, we think continually grouping children of different ages & abilities can be dangerous for the student’s development and can lead to them easily loosing interest as they cannot keep growing at a rate to keep them challenged and interested in class.

We teach you to thrive in dance & performing arts classes so you can shine in performance! We do this by giving you technical know-how you need plus developing your artistry & flair so you can absolutely step onstage with confidence.
Jazz is one of our most popular classes – Weekly classes consist of warm up, corner work technique and learning a dance routine. Jazz classes commence when children start prep or aged 5 and over.
Jazz is a fun, energetic class that combines technique with the latest moves. Students will learn how to safely turn and jump and will develop further coordination, flexibility and expressive skills while improving their fitness levels.
Jazz incorporates many technical elements of dance including kicks, turn, turns, leaps and flexibility danced to funky, upbeat music and choreography.
Jazz dance classes are offered by Backstage Dance Academy.
Our Jazz classes are recreational (non-competitive).  They are designed for fun and for the teaching of skills that don’t fit into the calisthenics regime.
