With a focus on Contemporary and Modern techniques, and an intention to instill a love of learning, dancers are taught how to build on their foundational training and are challenged to leave their comfort zone through class exploration and performance opportunities.

  • Jessica began her dance training in 2001 at the age of three years old in Whistler, BC, training in ballet and tap. Jessica transferred to the Coast Academy of Dance located on the Sunshine Coast, BC, in 2005 where she continued her training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, ISTD tap, and ISTD modern. In 2013, Jessica auditioned and got accepted into GISPA (Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts) on Salt Spring Island. She danced with this program for three years primarily training in ballet and contemporary, creating collaborative shows with students of different art forms and backgrounds. While living on Salt Spring Island, Jessica also taught her own contemporary and hip hop classes. After graduating high school, Jessica chose to continue to pursue dance. She transferred back to Coast Academy of Dance and was accepted into their Pre-Professional Program. In 2017, Jessica passed both her Intermediate ISTD tap and Advanced 1 ISTD modern exams, as well as receiving first place overall at Star Talent Dance Competition, in Burnaby, with the Coast Academy’s Senior Dance Team. In 2018, Jessica completed the Coast Academy of Dance’s Pre-Professional Program and passed her ISTD Modern Associate Exam. Jessica completed a three year program in just two years with hard work and dedication. She was almost always at the studio, either training or working with the younger classes. Jessica loves dancing and taking classes herself, but is ready to share her knowledge and passion with her students.
