We offer an outstanding program, which progresses from Pre-K, through advanced levels of instruction. Our students are guided with quality professional training ultimately producing technically proficient and elegant dancers.
Jazz Dance Classes are offered by South Bay Dance Center for all ages and skill level. South Bay Dance Center is recognized by many bay area professional dancers and college faculty members as the premiere dance education facility for serious dance students in the greater San Jose region.
This is a Jazz class--1 hour technique and 1/2 hour choreography, which will be dedicated to one group number.
This class is based on the Simonson Technique, an anatomically aware, organic approach to movement. Class begins with a thorough warm-up and includes progressions across the floor and a combination set to a variety of music styles. Class is designed for intermediate and advanced-level dancers
Authentic Black jazz forms and contemporary dance, incorporated with Afro-Caribbean rhythm and modern dance. Freestyle and theatrical innovations stressed. Beginning age 7 years.
Jazz is a fun and effervescent discipline that requires clean lines, passion and excellent technique. Well-known and diverse choreographers like Bob Fosse, Gus Giordano, Gene Kelly and Jerome Robbins have shaped this style over the decades to become a favorite of dancers and audiences alike.
