If you are a beginner or already have some musical ability, it's never to late to learn or re-learn - whether you are eight years old or eighty!
Do you have an interest in learning to play a musical instrument? If you are a beginner or already have some musical ability, it's never to late to learn or re-learn - whether you are eight years old or eighty!
NZ Modern School of Music teachers in the New Plymouth/Taranaki region are available to give you expert one-to-one tuition.
NZ Modern School of Music curriculum covers all styles of music from classical through to rock, jazz, blues, latin, and boogie. The teachers are dedicated, well organised, and are passionate about music and teaching.
Welcome to the NZ Modern School of Music. Since 1952, the NZ Modern School of Music has provided Kiwis of all ages, throughout the country, with a fun, modern approach to learning music.
My name is Gail Boswell and I manage the company in the New Plymouth/Taranaki district. I have a passion for music and teaching, and enjoy training music tutors who in turn pass on the passion for music to their pupils and watch them excel. I am dedicated to the school and will travel as far south as Palmerston North and as far north as Hamilton to train teachers.
We provide digital pianos (keyboards) in the classroom, and students will need to purchase their own keyboard to practice on at home. We do have some hires available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Keyboard classes are offered by Rotorua Music School. You are able to request a preferred day of the week, we will co-ordinate lesson times where possible.
Students are taught piano fingering techniques with an introduction to primary chords. Previous musical experience (e.g. Music Basics) is desirable for young beginners.
The piano and keyboard have long been favourite instruments to learn and our dedicated tutors have seen many students thrive; performing at music concerts and activities throughout the country.
Learning anything musical is a great choice. Music often makes people happy, whether they're involved passively or actively. If you can learn to play, write, produce or record music, you're basically set (on a positive trajectory) for the rest of your life.
