In this camp, children will select complimentary fabrics, how to cut fabric, piece the quilt, and basic machine quilting to quilt their piece with cuddle fabric, and apply a binding to a small quilt.
DurationMovies are so much better with a quilt to snuggle up with! During this week of camp, children will create a lap quilt approximately 32" x50" - large enough to cover your legs while watching a movie but small enough to fit in a tote bag to carry to the movie theater. Campers will select their fabrics, piece the quilt top, and sew together with a wonderfully soft cuddle backing. Project supplies and snacks are included in the camp.

Campers can use a classroom machine, bring their own machine from home or purchase a new sewing machine from us. If you purchase a Baby Lock sewing machine from us, we will have it ready on the first day of camp for exclusive use all week.
By the end of the week, they will take home their very own quilt! Each camp will follow the same format but it can be repeated easily since fabrics can change for each quilt. All supplies are included in the cost.

Quilting I series course is offered by Memories by the Yard. This series is designed with the beginner in mind. If you are a new beginner, we will start with the basics.
This is a four week beginner's class for adults and teens to learn the fundamentals of knitting.
You will learn how to chain, single crochet, yarn over, half double crochet, read a pattern, and beginning crochet terminology.
If you have never knitted before, register for Knit 101-A.  After completion of Knit 101-A, you can register for Knit 101-B to complete your knowledge of the basics. If you already know some of the basics but want a refresher on stitches, you can register for Knit 101-B.Â
This workshop teaches all the basics of patchwork quilting from piecing the top to assembling the layers and binding all in one afternoon. Some basic sewing experience required; if you've never sewn before you'll want to take an Intro to Sewing Machine workshop first.
