This four session beginner's class is a complete primer that will start you off with perfect technique and lots of inspiration. It will prepare you for many of our fabulous other classes offered throughout the year. This class will teach you how to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease and bind off. If you are doing crochet, you will learn the foundation chain, basic stitches (slip stitch, single, half double, double, and triple crochet), increasing, decreasing, and how to edge and join with crochet.
You'll make your first project and learn enough about the basics of pattern reading and gauge to dive into more complicated patterns. Class size is limited to allow for lots of individual attention. We recommend you committ to 4 classes to get the most benefit but you can attend four non-consecutive sessions. You will be charged for each class you register for. If you would like to register for all four classes at once just change the # of items purchased (the class) from 1 to 4 in your shopping cart and when you come in we will give you a punch card!

Allison and her husband Ray are both Clinical Psychologists. Ray doesn’t knit but he finds it fascinating that Allison does. She learned to knit while her son attended the Waldorf School 26 years ago. He didn’t learn to knit, but with much trial and error, she did. She calls herself an imprecise knitter and loves every second of it! You can find them at the shop in Dripping Springs, where she has lived for 29 years.

Established in 2015. Opened in September 2015
This class is The Nifty Knitter version of a Costco sample! If you're curious about our craft but not ready to make any commitments, this is your opportunity to try a "taste". Participants will be introduce to the knit stitch as they create a very simple (and cute!) flower accessory.
Each class will build on the next, starting with the smallest embroidery patterns. All embroidery machines are welcome but some of the larger designs will be too big for the smaller machines
The intent of the KAL / CAL is to enable participants to try out a new skill, design, technique, or yarn type. Most of the designs selected are for advanced beginners and up. We encourage everyone to push their skills a bit and suggest you try a project or two.
Join the joy in the journey of making a vintage Christmas quilt from the Lori Holt Vintage Christmas book. This monthly in store class is a great chance to share your quilting experience with other stitchers.
