Our Education Center is established and operated by the Korean government to support educational activities related to the Korean language, Korean history, and Korean culture for overseas Koreans in five states of the southwestern (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi).
In addition, we are doing business such as offering Korean language classes to regular schools to promote Korea, recruiting GKS, attracting international students and EPIK teachers, supporting educational exchanges between Korea and the U.S. and hosting the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).
We hope that such education for overseas Koreans, the spread of the Korean language and culture and educational exchanges will further accelerate the cultivation of competitive human resources and mutual understanding between the two countries. Your wisdom and help in order to achieve this goal would be greatly appreciated.
Historically Korean has not been studied by many native English speakers but this is changing, largely due to South Korea's growing role in the world economy and global popular culture.
This is a beginner-level course designed for students with little or no previous Korean learning experience. This course initiates the development of the ability to speak, understand, read, and write in Korean.
Korean Class Levels There are multiple levels for beginner through advanced Korean students. We have developed our own curriculum based off of standards and best teaching practices. Korean students learn the basics of Korean such as greetings.
Korean is spoken in South and North Korea by about 70 million people. There are about 3 million Koreans in China and Japan and smaller numbers in Russian and the ex Soviet States of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan as well as in the United States.
