We started, with the process of identifying faculty, specialised in teaching Korean as a foreign language and mobilizing first time learners. We signed an MoU with Sangmyung University in Korea in June 2010 for new initiatives in the field of Korean Language teaching, including faculty and student exchange.
We also signed a meaningful MoU with The King Sejong Institute Foundation for teaching Korean Language at our Centre in 2011.The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and was established to manage Korean language education and culture abroad.
Based on the increasing need and steady flow of enquiries from the student community and professionals, we now offer two main courses in Korean - namely Korean Language for General Purposes, for language aspirants at different levels, starting from the Beginner Level to the Advanced and Korean Language for Business Purposes, which are customised courses for Indian employees in Korean companies in India.
We are a designated Centre in South India for TOPIK- the Test for Proficiency in Korean, which is a globally accepted test that verifies levels of proficiency in Korean. Our regular and online courses are developed and quality- checked by The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) in Korea specially for the InKo Centre King Sejong Institute, Chennai and are delivered by qualified, native Korean teachers selected by Sangmyung University, Korea.
The courses are delivered by our Korean language teachers on secure platforms and testing, marking and attendance is monitored directly by KSIF Korea.
InKo Centre aims to promote an inter-cultural dialogue by facilitating a consistent programme that draws on the rich traditions of both India and Korea. With a focus on language, culture and information, the Centre will look at the global dimension of such a dialogue while showcasing the local and national characteristics that underpin such exchange
