Ladder and Stepladder Training

Our Working at Height course delivers clear instruction on the safe use of ladders and stepladders at your place of work and clearly details what must be done in order to comply with The Work at Height Regulations 2005.In the UK, falls from height are the leading cause of fatality at work. By taking simple precautions, many of these fatalities could be avoided.

Our Working at Height: Ladder and Stepladder training course raises awareness of the dangers associated with using ladders and stepladders at work.This course can be delivered as part of a bundle with our Manual Handling Awareness training course and/or our CoSHH training course.

Course Aims

On completion, delegates should be able to:

• Understand the risks of working at height activities
• Understand the legal requirements that underpin working at height
• Understand the risk assessment process
• Know how to use a ladder safely

Course Content

The course is divided in to 5 modules:

• Legislation and statistics
• Hazards and risk: Hazards, assessing risk, control measures,
• Before you start: Pre-use checks, types of ladder, choosing the correct ladder,
• Using a ladder safely: Positioning and tethering a ladder
• Summary of good practice

This course is suitable for anyone who needs to use a ladder or a stepladder to carry out tasks in their place of work.

• Worksafe UK Certificate of Attendance
• CPD Certificate and 3 CPD hours
