The Partners Hair Design Training Academy (PHDTA) offers a full-time ladies hairdressing course over a 12-month period. Learners complete all three academic levels required for a full Ladies Hairdressing NQF 2, 3 & 4 qualification by the end of the training year, empowering them to enter the job market far sooner than after the current three year course.
Learners are required to complete a mandatory twenty month practical after which they are eligible to do their Services Seta Trade Test.
We also offer a part-time course which is completed over three years. Learners benefit from the PHDTA course in that the programme works hand-in-hand with the Partners Hair Design salons to ensure that the practical hours, which are required from each learner, are completed under the guidance of a salon mentor.
Learners will also be placed in a work placement program to ensure that they become gainfully employed after completion of the course.
PHDTA is based in Kenilworth and is easily accessible to both students and visitors, and can accommodate up to four classes per year. Learners are treated to a warm and modern learning environment, as well as a fully functioning salon facility that is used for the assessment of their practical skills
NQF Level 2:
National Certificate: Hairdressing Level 2 - 130 credits
Perform basic reception and administrative services
Demonstrate an understanding of the services sector
Maintain a professional standard of health and cleanliness in the salon. Perform elementary hairdressing services. (Includes a one length cut and a gents clipper cut)
Promote salon products and services.
NQF Level 3:
National Certificate: Hairdressing Level 3 - 122 credits
Perform cutting services for ladies and gents
Perform long hair styling and colouring services
Perform chemical services to Afro Hair
NQF Level 4:
Certificate: Hairdressing Level 4 - 143 credits
Perform hairdressing services. (Range services are performed on either Afro or Caucasian hair)

The Partners Hair Design Training Academy which opened in January 2012 is the realization of a longstanding dream. This Training Academy gives us the opportunity to enhance our current training offering both to staff as well as to any learner who wishes to obtain a full Ladies Hairdressing NQF 2,3,4 qualification.
Basic Hairdressing course is offered by IHB Institute. This Course is designed to equip the learner with basic salon principles.
