The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support & Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator is a half-day course that has been designed to give people the knowledge and skills needed to perform CPR and safely use an AED in emergency situations.

In the UK, there are over 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests every year, the statistics show the importance of knowing how to safely use an AED and perform life-saving CPR. 

Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the UK’s biggest killers, and yet statistics show that most of the British public are unaware of the life-saving difference they can make by performing CPR and defibrillation. 

The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support & Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator course is a nationally recognised qualification and is a regulated course.

Who Is This Course For?

The course is designed for those who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide Basic Life Support in an emergency situation which may involve using an AED. It is an ideal course for anyone wanting to learn about giving Basic Life Support and how to safely use an AED, or refresh their knowledge. 

Assessment And Certification

During this half-day course, there will be a range of learning styles incorporated to maximise your learning experience. There will be a multiple-choice examination at the end of the course to test your knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course, each delegate will have the knowledge, confidence, and certification to give Basic Life Support and use an AED safely.

The certificate is valid for 1 year and after this, you will then need to update and refresh your knowledge by retaking the Level 2 Basic Life Support & Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator.
