The Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Fabrication & Welding Technology is designed to contribute towards the knowledge and understanding of Engineering. It covers the principles of Engineering Technology including Fabrication and Welding Technology.
Who Is This Course For?
It is expected that candidates should have sufficient levels of numeracy and literacy to be able to satisfactorily complete the course of study, these qualifications are provided on our ApprenticeshipNI Programme for eligible candidates.
The Level 2 Diplomas are designed for candidates who wish to progress within their Engineering career or wish to want to further develop skills from previous qualifications.
Learning Outcomes
Students will have 3 mandatory units to complete in this qualification: Working in Engineering, Principles of Engineering Technology and Principles of Fabrication and Welding Technology. These are complimented by a choice Technology based and optional units such as:
Welding by Manual Metal Arc process
Welding by TIG process
Fabricating sheet metalwork
Pattern development for plate and sheet metalwork
