A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it.
Who needs this qualification?
Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid - the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

Meet the trainer
Jeremy Sleet
Jeremy, originally from North West London, has been a trainer for over 15 years and was formally a Warrant Officer First Class, in the Royal Navy serving in the submarine service.
After his career in the Royal Navy, Jeremy joined YMCA Plymouth as a Public Services Tutor, and Health & Safety Coordinator, before becoming a Health and Safety and First Aid trainer.
Whilst at YMCA Plymouth, I held the role of Health and Safety Coordinator, advising the senior management team on all aspects of Health and safety at work, as well as directing the facilities team on physical and administrative health and safety.
Throughout my career in the Royal Navy, I was always involved in Health and Safety at work. As the Officer of the Day for a Trafalgar Class Nuclear Submarine, I was responsible for; reserve of buoyancy, nuclear safety, Health and Safety, Safe systems of work, working at heights, the safety of dockyard workers and civilian contractors, the integrity of High-Pressure Air & Hydraulic systems. I also managed small-scale construction projects within the military environment.
