Dancers will develop their strength, flexibility, control, technique and emotion to create a routine that is expressive of a story. Classes run all dance year for 45 minutes a week, with a year-end recital routine.
Lyrical dance classes are offered by Dance London. Lyrical dance is a merging of ballet and jazz styles, using music with lyrics that inspire the choreographer/dancer to interpret the emotions of the song.
These classes are based on the Association of International Dance Teachers. Students learn expressive movement and patterning through both lyrical and traditional jazz styles. Students are placed according to age and ability.
Lyrical dance is the fusion of ballet and jazz technique. Expression from the inner emotion is a primary factor in choreographing and interpreting this art form.
