At ConfiDance Studio, lyrical programs introduce and continue to teach the styles of jazz. Emphasis is placed on flexibility and acquiring slower controlled movements. Lyrical classes are currently available to ages eleven through eighteen in beginner intermediate and advanced levels.
Dance is more than just offering a great dance program. It’s about inspiring the student and enhancing confidence. It’s about personal skills – dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and self-challenge, as much as it is about dance skills.

Students will be guided to understand the meaning behind a piece of music and will learn to emote a story through movement. Classes will begin with a full body warm up and stretch.
Lyrical requires the dancer to express themselves through their body. Young dancers aspire to take their turn in Lyrical. Lovely to watch and rewarding to perform.
Lyrical dance most often combines jazz and ballet. It focuses on strength, flexibility, lines and emotion to music, or especially the lyrics. Very technique based, lyrical requires both a strong ballet and jazz technique. Not usually recommended for beginners or students under the age of 10.
Teach a blend of ballet with jazz and a fusion of contemporary techniques. Students interested in lyrical must be registered in either ballet or jazz class.
This form of dance is a combination of Ballet and Jazz executing strength, control and emphasis placed on technique, while embracing the feelings and emotions of the lyrics.
