Lyrical is a fusion of Ballet and jazz, performed to slower music with very fluid movements – characterized by the expression of the dancer’s inner emotion. We offer Lyrical classes for our competitive team beginning at age 5. Lyrical dance is the fusion of ballet and jazz technique. Expression from the inner emotion is a primary factor in choreographing and interpreting this art form.
A key element in looking at a lyrical piece is seeing the movements done in a flowing or continuous pattern. Lyrical dance interprets music or words, showing the audience the emotion of the particular piece. The lines are traditional in nature with a technique base that determines the correct placement of the body angles.

This art form is a softer version of jazz danced to softer music selections. Lyrical combines the look of ballet with the technique of jazz. The music usually has lyrics, as opposed to just instrumental. Body movement, like in many other dances, is used to express feeling.
