The acronym R.A.C.E. stands for Radical Application of Creative Energy and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Oklahoma City. We strive to provide our collective with intentional, inclusive, and empowering artistic experiences through our performances, community collaborations, and RACE the Space classes.
Lyrical is a form of jazz dance that has evolved to incorporate the staples of ballet, jazz and modern dance techniques. There is much emphasis on interpreting the lyrics, mood or intent of the music, to depict specific emotions.
Lyrical Dance Classes are offered by Contemporary Academy of Dance for all skill level. We provide our students with a safe, encouraging, and fun environment to learn a variety of dance styles.
Lyrical is style of dance that expresses emotions and a story line through movement. Our classes introduce and expand upon basic modern and jazz techniques with an emphasis on creative stylization
This class is a fusion of ballet techniques in combination with the athletic and expressive contemporary dance form. With a focus on ballet technique, French terminology, and proper alignment, the dancers explore ballet barre work, across-the-floor progressions, and center work.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to use their own creative imagery and musicality in Lyrical class. Students are encouraged to express themselves and put feeling into the steps as they develop their technical skills.
