DurationLyrical is a beautiful style of dance that is simply danced to the lyrics of a song! We will work on classical technique and performance skills with in the class. Dancers will learn to choreograph and pick up choreography all with no pressure of exams, just the chance to enjoy dancing!
We are an Acrobatic Dance school with some dance and technique classes to help our dancers to reach their potential as Acro Dancers. Acro Dance is a style of dance that incorporates elements from artistic gymnastics, ballet, lyrical, jazz, contortion, yoga and acro yoga.
We follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus which has been created in Canada with input from Cirque du Soleil, physiotherapists, dance teachers in ballet, jazz, modern, hand balancing specialists and more!
Acro focuses on 5 main elements: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Partnering and Tumbling.
NZAMD (NZ Association of Modern Dance) Contemporary exams are available for students who have attained Grade 4 Jazz and/or Ballet.
For participants aged 11 & over. This non exam class involves a warm up, stretch, progressions across the room and contemporary/Lyrical dances for students enjoyment.
Whether you are training for a professional career, creating a fitness regime, or just dancing for fun, DFS will provide you with everything you need to reach your individual goals
Lyrical is an elegant form of dance, which draws on the technique of ballet.
Our jazz/lyrical pre-school classes introduce dancers to flowing movements and encourage flexibility.
