Course Details

Lyrical is a continuous, gentle and flowing dance form that blends technical movements smoothly from one step to the next.

Students are taught to blend their steps working with slow-paced music while lengthening lines and working on emotional commitment to their movement.

Gesture, improvisation and other acting elements are layered on the movement to enhance the interpretation of the dance.

Class Objectives:

be able to incorporate emotion and artistry into their movement
be able to perform solo and group choreography
have expanded their vocabulary
harness strength, emotion and flexibility in their movement and expression
