This interactive course presents foundational knowledge and skills needed to understand and manage interpersonal conflict.
Through individual and group self-reflection, students will consider selected theory, fundamental skills, and basic attributes required to effectively analyze and engage with interpersonal conflict in various settings.
Learning Activities
This course is interactive. Students work in groups through exercises and case studies to practice basic interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.
Students also work individually with feedback from the instructor by keeping a reflective journal.

By the end of this course, participants will develop capacity and skills to apply to resolving workplace conflicts with tact and skill.
After this session, participants will be able to define conflict and assess the impact level of an ongoing conflict
At this workshop you will practice what you learn to enable you to apply the skills more readily when you return to your workplace. You are encouraged to bring examples of situations you would like to resolve.
Participants will learn skills to enhance their ability to de-escalate conflict, listen effectively, build mutual respect with others in a construction context, and negotiate effectively.
This course will teach participants the general duties of the workplace parties, how to assess the risks of workplace violence
