Why Learn Chinese
Foreign languages come more easily to young children than to adults. This is one of the many reasons that our program places such an emphasis on toddlers, preschoolers, and young learners.
Benefits For Cognitive Development
Learning a foreign language, particularly at an early age but also later in life, has positive effects on cognitive development. The cognitive development that comes with learning another language impacts critical thinking skills, creativity, and other pursuits not directly related to language acquisition and proficiency.
Chinese In A Global World
We live in a globalized world. There are more than one billion native speakers of Chinese on Earth. A person who is bilingual in English and Chinese is able to communicate with more than half of the world’s population.
Culture, Traditions, and Values
Exposure to Chinese and other foreign languages gives students an appreciation of other cultures, traditions, and values. The benefits of such exposure are particularly valuable to our young students, who learn to be tolerant, respectful, and inclusive. Such traits are vital in a world where educational, professional, and social opportunities are increasingly intercultural.
