The Master of Nursing (MN) curriculum offered by NUS reflects the current healthcare needs and the importance of advanced nursing practice. Students receive advanced clinical knowledge, skills and acquired professional attitude from a range of disciplines.
The Master of Nursing (MN) curriculum offered by NUS reflects the current healthcare needs and the importance of advanced nursing practice.
Students receive advanced clinical knowledge, skills and acquired professional attitude from a range of disciplines in advanced nursing practice, clinical medicine, social sciences and public health.
Students acquire and apply learnt knowledge and skills not only on campus but also in clinical practice settings. Upon successful completion of the MN programme, graduates are eligible to apply for APN provisional license with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) to continue with a 12-month Integrated APN Internship (IAI).
Aims of Programme
This programme aims to enable MN graduate to perform the nine APN core Entrusted Professional Activities (EPAs) at the expected level of entrustment (LOE).
They will acquire knowledge, skills and attitude to build their capabilities in the five competencies domains determined by SNB: Patient care, Clinical knowledge, Interpersonal and communication skills, Practice-based learning and improvement, and Professionalism.
The MN programme offers 2 pathways:
Adult Health (AH)
Paediatric (Paed), which is applicable for Registered Nurses (RN) working in the paediatric setting
Programme Structure
The MN programme is an 18-month programme and will be delivered across 3 semesters.
Graduation and Continuing
Upon successful completion of the MN programme, graduates are eligible to apply for APN provisional license with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) to continue with a 12-month Integrated APN Internship (IAI).
Full APN certification will be issued upon completing the IAI and fulfilling SNB requirements.
A student is eligible to apply for graduation if he/she meets all the following requirements:
achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0;
complete and pass 40 Units of theoretical courses;
complete 1,200 hours of clinical attachments (30 Units), and
pass the summative OSCE at the end of the MN programme.

Milestone
2004
Arium School of Arts & Sciences (Asas) was established and registered with the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
2006
Asas received the CaseTrust for Education certification, providing assurance that the institution
has been found to meet clearly stated criteria and will continue to meet them.
2010
With the implementation of the Private Education Act in December 2009, and the setting up of the Council for Private Education to regulate the private education sector in Singapore, Asas is required to comply with the regulations under the new Act.
2016
Asas became an Authorized Training Organization to deliver courses under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications system in May 2016.
2017
The Council for Private Education was renamed the Committee for Private Education and has become a part of SkillsFuture Singapore, a statutory board under the Ministry of Education.
The programmes aim to position nursing research at the forefront of the health care sciences to develop a dynamic, vital, and productive community of investigators who conduct rigorous research to establish the scientific and evidence base for patient care.
