The MCA Food Hygiene Course is a requirement for all food handlers, both preparing and serving (ie. Stewardesses / Stewards, Chefs, Catering staff) and will provide individuals with the knowledge of how to safely & hygienically store, handle, cook and serve food on-board.

General food safety awareness has grown and has had its place in land based kitchens for many years. It was only a matter of time before the Superyacht Industry followed suit to ensure the safety and well-being of the owners and guests who pay extremely high rates for a bespoke experience. Cases of food poisoning on-board have been documented throughout the years, with some high profile cases making it into the news.

Yachts may be refused entry into a port. This could create unnecessary problems for the captain and owner and potentially have financial implications.
