Piqué Dance Studio International Incorporated is a Canadian Corporation that was formed in 1997 and is under the direction of Koryn MacArthur. We are very pleased to have a wonderful teaching team comprised of new and long-time staff members.
We are excited to offer 80 classes per week during the school calendar year and a summer dance camp and evening dance class program. In 2005 the studio moved to its present location in South Pointe Village in Manotick across from St. Mark High School.
During the school year we offer classes during the day, in the evenings and on weekends in examination, recreational and competitive areas as well as adult fitness and dance classes. In the summer we run 9 weeks of daytime dance camp and evening dance classes that run to capacity.
The camps are offered every week of the summer and the focus of our summer camp program is fun. The intensive camp is for dancers who are looking to be challenged and occurs towards the end of August. It is taught by special guest teachers from across the U.S. and Canada.
Pointe starts with pre-ballet, which is an introduction to ballet. Pointe work is available to students who show the physical strength needed, while meeting proper age requirements to safely execute this style of dance.
It includes all main aspects that will help you to become a performing dancer. We will start with ballet barre and stretching, then will transfer to jumps and turns.
Dancers will study ballet technique in soft shoe and on pointe to classical music with a focus on grace, posture, balance, jumps, turns, extensions, and expression.
At ConfiDance Studio, pointe classes are integrated into ballet classes for individuals who have the desire to learn pointe and for those in grades five and above. Ballet classes are currently available to ages six through adult offered in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Classes will progress at a rate that allow you to grow in strength and refine your technique, with movement and combinations becoming more complex.
