Please note that students working towards sitting their Grade 5 ABRSM theory of music exam will be required to purchase their own workbook.
Situated in the heart of Nelson, we offer opportunities to learn an instrument and to rehearse and perform as an individual or as part of a group. We are also a performance venue and our audiences enjoy concerts held in the Nelson School of Music Auditorium and brand new performance space in the Rainey Wing.
We are a non-profit, charitable organisation and operate with generous support from Nelson City Council in the form of an annual grant as well as funding from a small number of key funding partners.

Aural Training classes are offered by Hastings Piano Teacher. Hastings piano teacher Wendy Hunt is the person for you. Wendy is happy to teach all, from young children to mature adults, from beginners to advanced students.Â
Concert Ba classes are offered by Whangarei Youth Music. Good communication and input from the student is important to an enjoyable experience.Â
Compass Music Studio can offer you the right lessons for you and your goals.
This is a two year course for children 6+ years who are new to learning music.
We are excited to announce a new and unique music programme which allows students to learn to play their instrument in the most fun way imaginable.
