The Richmond Academy is a member of the BC Dance Educator’s Association, Richmond Chamber of Commerce, West Coast Tap Dance Collective, BC Alliance for Arts and Culture, Richmond Arts Council, Canadian Dance Assembly, BC Artist Registry, Candance.org and has teachers who have obtained Registered Teacher Status with various international organizations including the Royal Academy of Dance.
Our preschool music group is a fun and engaging music class aimed at children ages 3-5 years old.
We are not obsessive regarding the perfection of a recital dance. The Janice Luey Dance Co. is primarily a recreational school, with a small competitive division.
These classes include various styles of song and dance with an emphasis on performance. Students are placed according to age and ability.
The perfect class for any aspiring performer, Musical Theatre will focus on combining choreography, acting, and singing! Classes will cover fundamentals of all three disciplines. All Musical Theatre students perform in the annual musical at the end of April.
SoM students (and staff!) managed to re-create 1890’s New York in our first-ever online play reading of the hit musical Newsies. Hats off to everyone who went outside their comfort zone, tried something new, and made it so much fun!
